Being the General Manager of the Surf Spirit Retreat makes you not just the social host but the overall leader of the whole place. You are the face of Surf Spirit and the leader of the team. Your main task is to make sure that all processes run smoothly from the gastronomy & general organization side of things to meeting our quality standards in our surfing and yoga classes. You are in close communication with our coaches and make sure all guests are satisfied and their expectations are met. If they are missing anything, you are the one addressing it to the members of the team to make a change. You are the key figure between the Founders, the local manager and the international crew. You are the one person that is making sure our Surf Spirit Philosophy is lived by all staff in each week. As the Guest Relation Manager at Surf Spirit Retreat, you are the face of Surf Spirit on-site and play a central role in our team. Serving as the point of contact for all guests and team members, you are always available to answer questions, address concerns, and ensure that our guests' needs are met. You act as the interface between our guests and the entire team.

A crucial aspect of your role is the responsibility for hygiene and cleanliness in all public areas of the retreat. You ensure that our guests always find a clean and pleasant environment where they can feel comfortable. Additional tasks include organizing guest transfers and excursions. It is essential that you ensure smooth operations to provide our guests with unforgettable experiences. Furthermore, you are responsible for guest check-in and check-out, ensuring a warm welcome and a personal farewell, always with a smile. As a Host at Surf Spirit Retreat, you will be an integral part of our on-site team and play a key role in looking after our guests. Together with the other hosts and the Guest Relation Manager you will be the main part of the team that looks after our guests and ensures that their expectations are met. Your main task is to be in contact with the guests and to offer each of them the best possible experience. You create a welcoming and positive atmosphere where guests can relax and feel comfortable. It is important to listen attentively and respond to the guests' needs. You greet and say goodbye to each guest personally and are available to them as the first point of contact on site. During your shift, you will be responsible for breakfast, help prepare other meals and take responsibility for serving food and drinks. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the communal area and the sanitary block are always in perfect condition and for keeping the staff area clean and tidy. In consultation with the Guest Relation Manager, you will also organize evening activities such as beach yoga, sunset meditations (and much more) to offer our guests magical experiences. You will also help with the maintenance of the plants in the common area, feed our chickens and occasionally shuttle our guests to the beach by van.

You are aware that Surf Spirit aims to offer the best service including fun and professional surf lessons, which is why we hire professional, experienced coaches only. We understand that you are energetic and fully motivated to fulfil your position in order to create a great experience for every single guest. You are responsible for making sure that each guest, based on his or her personal surf level improves and really gets something out of your lessons. An intrinsic motivation to please the guests is relevant. • are fully certified (ISA or similar) incl. lifeguard training
• have at least 3 years of coaching experience

Being the photographer at Surf Spirit you are responsible for creating professional content sent to our marketing department, valuable videos of all guests surfing for the surf coaching video analysis and photos of all guests surfing for them to take home as great memories of their stay. You will also take care of our stories on our social media platforms and deliver creative and high-quality content daily. You have an important key position working for our surf coaches and social media manager abroad. It is therefore very important that you work reliably, on time and with expected results to contribute to a relaxed working procedure on site and in our German office. You are the creator of your own salary as you keep 100% of all sold photos to yourself. Depending on your content, communication and organizational talent you will sell numerous photo packages. In return, we expect you to support our surf coaches with videos of all guests surfing and our social media manager with providing a certain amount of content per month and taking care of stories as you are our creative eye on the spot. Other than that, working at Surf Spirit is not just creating content but providing an overall experience for the guests including joined meals, socializing and spending most of your time within the retreat.
