The surf spots around Aljezur are considered the most consistent waves in the Algarve. The sandy beaches of Arrifana, Monte Clérigo & Amoreira are each laid out at different angles on the west coast of Portugal. Depending on the swell, wind direction & tides, we head for the most suitable surf spot of the day for your surf level. If the waves are too high on the entire west coast, there is also the possibility to move to the south coast of the Algarve to guarantee the best chances of good waves.

Our yoga area is especially suitable for all those who want to completely switch off in the yoga sessions to find focus, deceleration and relaxation. Amidst the untouched nature of the Habitat, on the highest point, you will enjoy a unique view during your practice and be able to completely surrender and feel yourself.
In the morning, before breakfast, you will start the day invigorated by our first activating yoga session. The style depends on the teacher who is teaching on site. Usually Vinyasa or Hatha is taught or a mixture.
The second yoga class of the day is a very relaxing Yin session in the red light of the sunset, so the day can end soothed and calm. In Yin we focus on stretching and releasing tense muscle groups. Especially after surf lessons or active days, your body will look forward to this relaxing hour before dinner.
Guided meditation sessions are included in small parts of the yoga classes and are offered more intensively in the Reconnect & Create package. Each coach is happy to listen to requests and make your yoga experience at Surf Spirit in Habitat Algarve as fulfilling as possible.

We place great emphasis on producing as much as possible ourselves. Be it the wide variety of vegetables and fruits from our garden, our own bread, fresh goat cheese or homemade soap and detergent, even fertiliser. We also try out a lot and always try to find new ways to make something ourselves.
We know exactly what the ingredients are and thus save ourselves long delivery routes and packaging waste.
While our breakfast as well as dinner are large meals, we serve a somewhat smaller, balanced meal at lunchtime as well as tea & coffee.

The Habitat Algarve is nestled between forests and rolling hills on the southwest coast of Portugal. There is nothing but nature around us. Cities and beaches are 20 minutes away by car. Here, piece by piece, we create our own microclimate. Back to our roots, living sustainably with and in nature.

Your week begins with Saturday as your arrival day, when you can relax and get to know the other guests over dinner. Sessions run from Sunday to Friday, with Wednesday being your day off and free to organise yourself. After breakfast, you can head out to explore the area, visit local cafés or give your body a rest.

We are located in the beautiful hilly hinterland of Aljezur, surrounded by pure nature, 20 min, away from the beach & town.
- 2 airports nearby
- Faro (1,5 hours by car)
- Lisbon (3 hours by car)
- Car hire recommended for independent mobility

Shuttle prices from Faro vary according to season. The price per vehicle per way starts at 120 Euros and can be split up to 4 people. For arrivals at Lisbon Airport we strongly recommend to hire a car or to take the bus due to high shuttle costs.

Please note that the shuttle is not operated by us. We can only assist you in booking the shuttle so that everything runs smoothly on site and guests can share a vehicle if possible. Our guests travel from different directions and we usually receive all the information ourselves at very short notice. Therefore, please plan the full amount for your budget if you order the shuttle.
Alternatively, you can rent a car at the airport. This way you are more independent to explore other cities in the area. We have plenty of parking spaces at Habitat Algarve, free of charge of course.

After Janina & Markus left their jobs in the hotel & catering industry, they travelled around Europe in their van for years. After arriving in the Algarve, it quickly became clear that this will be the place in which their dream of their own project in harmony with nature turns into reality. The paradisiacal property in the relaxed hinterland of Aljezur was love at first sight.
Since then, the German - Austrian couple have built a small farm with animals & permaculture. We are proud to have founded Surf Spirit - Habitat Algarve with them & share the same philosophy.

We are proud to present our new location from July 2023. Secluded and surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Algarve, we invite you to experience the simple Portuguese slow living lifestyle but also the chance for adventure with like-minded people.

As well as surfing, yoga, reconnection & creation activities, we are immensely proud to give you an insight into enjoying home-grown fruit & vegetables and living with the animals on the land. Let's not forget what life is really about and keep the lightheartedness that we so easily lose in our stressful daily lives.
